Since I won't be able to attend Animation Mentor Graduation in July due to the birth of my first child, I was asked to make a short video to thank and congratulate everyone at the ceremony. My team of fellow Animation Mentor students (JJ Pastore and Chris Schloemp) have been accepted as one of 16 teams to compete in this years FJORG! competition at SIGGRAPH in LA in August.  FJORG! is an iron-chef like competition for character animators where 16 teams of three create a 15-second character animation based off a similar theme in only 36 hours. It was a complete repeat, weather-wise, of yesterday.  The same areas that got tornadoes yesterday, had tornadoes today as well. It was another day of supercells marching south to north in a line almost like a storm train.  There were a bunch of tornadoes all over western central Kansas and we got to actually see one of them! So two fellow Animation Mentor students and I have put together a demo reel with the hopes of getting into this years SIGGRAPH FJORG competition.  The competition pits 16 teams of 3 animators against each other in a 36-hour animation-off. I have finally finished my first assignment (had 5 weeks thankfully) for Class 3 of Animation Mentor.  I only focused on the fan holding the sign. The third and final assignment for Class 2 was to animate a character in a push/pull situation.  For this assignment I went with a guy whose foot gets stepped on by a horse.
